Roller

Grandma’s roller shades have experienced an amazing facelift. With so many new fabrics to choose from, no doubt you’ll find the right one. It seems as though we have new fabrics added everyday, from suede to sheer lace and everything in between. Cassettes or cornice type covers are available to conceal the roll or they can be made in reverse to self cover. Hems can be done straight and tailored or shaped and embellished with the likes of beads and seashells! Spring rollers are still available if you prefer or use a clutch, the new favorite. Select from the shade manufacturers’ books or custom select your own fabric and laminate it to the shade for a true designer look.

Available for years, solar screen shades are now experiencing an explosion in popularity. Cutting edge fabric patterns, hardware options, and density ratings have made what was once a staple in commercial settings become even more desirable in residential settings. Whether it's Hunter Douglas's trademarked duette or the many others in today’s market, honeycombs, known also as cellular shades, are often the first choice when either basic privacy, black out or insulation are on the list. Today’s natural woods are a far cry from the old bamboo porch shades of yesteryear! We carry the most brands of wovens in Westchester. You truly will not believe the vast selection, ranging from traditional matchstick or bamboo to the exotic grasses. Many have materials woven in like leather, suede, chenille, twine and gold or silver threading. Design yours as a flat or soft fold roman, with a liner or without if you prefer to see through, trim the sides with fabric banding or go standard edge; the variations seem endless. Natural woods have claimed their permanent position in home décor today and transcend styles from tropical to traditional to tremendous!

Roman

Fabric romans add that perfect touch when more elaborate draperies are not preferred. We are proud to introduce Shadow Inside to Westchester and offer them as one of our exciting new roman shade choices. Shadow’s fabrics are available as sliding panels as well, for a completely coordinated look.  Additional roman shade products are available from other shade manufacturers, as in the Hunter Douglas Vignette, Comfortex  Serenade, and Prestige’s Toscana collection.  Authentic work room made romans, additionally offer the finest in custom made window coverings and allow you the opportunity to select any fabric or optional feature. We are proud of how many varieties of shade styles we display in our showroom. Styles include the basic flat and soft fold, as in the wovenwoods, however, many additional designs are also possible. An elaborate balloon, an Austrian, a simple soft curve along the bottom, dog-ear the corners, seam in batons or go without, a valance flap, a cornice top, or waterfall! If it seems overwhelming, not to worry; we stand ready and waiting to make it as simple as 1–2–3.

Pirouette

Is it a roman shade? Is it a silhouette? No, its Hunter Douglas’ newest patented creation—pirouette®, uniquely designed with soft fabric vanes in 4” or 5”, all attached to a single sheer backing. Pull the cord and the vanes expand to close, pull the cord again and the vanes contract, opening up to a clear outside view.

Silhouette

We’ve saved the best for last. A silhouette is a three in one product and absolutely nothing else compares to it. The luxurious sheer fabric graces the exterior layers, while the pivoting fabric louver is sandwiched in to the interior. This Hunter Douglas patented product, and its cousin, Nantucket, allow sheer view through with 65% uv protection in the “open” position, and full privacy with 99% uv protection in the ”closed“ position. The resemblance to a blind with the louvers in the open position gives it the “third” function. Roll it up if you wish and it disappears into the head rail altogether. Color and fabric choices abound, louvers come in 2”, 3”, and the new addition, 4” quartette.
